Sorry this may seem like a stupid bit of questions to ask on this forum but I'm not sure what to do since I have searched the net and found nothing. The blue light that you can see under the screen and coming through when the laptop is closed for some reason is off...is there a way to turn it back on? I don't mind that its off but I was just wondering why all of a sudden this happened. Also the battery indicator keeps flashing green/orange and I don't know what's wrong with it. In the windows menu it shows as 94% not charging but plugged in...any help will be appreciated...thank you in advance

Did you try cycling through the lighting settings with the lighting button (top far-left button above keyboard)?
-
ok thanks that did help regarding the light...thank you
any opinions on the battery issue? -
I have not noticed the battery indicator changing colors, but I have noticed that it appears to be normal for charger to cycle through charging and not charging while plugged in. Mine drops to 93% before it starts to charge and then charges up to 100%.

In regards to what chet said I will expand on the issue. The battery doesn't charge when it is at almost peak capacity because it will just be continuously charging those cells over and over again leading to greater wear on the battery in a shorter amount of time, so the laptop just routes Ac current from your adapter and uses that rather than the battery, It is perfectly normal for this to occur and there are no ways around it unless you reverse engineered the power management systems and that would be risky and serve no purpose.

In plain english - why stress the battery when you're plugged in? Since batteries lose charge over time when not in use, and the laptop isn't using the battery, the reading will go down slowly.
Eventually it'll start charging again.
Both of your problems sound like PEBKAC. -
PEBKAC....I can't find that in the manual...
-
PEBKAC= Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair.
Just means that, due to a series of unfortunate events*aherm* you just created a problem, without there being any.
PS: It just means that a users queries are dumb when a technical person says the issue is PEBKAC.. -
And here I thought I made a good joke by making a dumb query...

You truly had everyone fooled!!
