Wow. I had no idea of the awesomeness I was missing out on. I am not talking about the processing power of the core i7 or even the AMD 5870M ... but the ergonomics and size of this laptop actually makes it IDEAL as a gaming laptop.
I gave up desktop computing about 5-6 years ago, i have a unique living arrangement with my wife. She doesnt care if i play games, as long as we are in the same room together and can chat/talk. I sold my desktop, sold my desk, got a gaming laptop and marriage has been much better since. She likes watching TV shows (I.E. Teen Mom) that i cant stand, but they dont bother me much at all when I can be logged into world of warcraft, starcraft 2, call of duty MW2, etc.
When this laptop is on my lap its immense size puts the 17" LCD right up in my face. I don't have to look down at it, like my old gateway NV53 , makes it easier to see but also more comfortable to look at it too. It stays quiet and cool, so my lap doesnt sweat and again is more comfortable. Its large, but not heavy, build quality seems excellent compared to the gateways.
Ergonomically and aesythically I love this laptop, probably one of the best keyboard/palm rest combinations I have ever laid my hands on... i worked at best buy last season and they had these on display -- i thought they were cool, but until it was actually in my lap last night did i realize how awesome it really was (at least for me)
Ive swapped the CPU on my last two laptops, but Ill probably leave this one alone for a few months. Eventually ill probably bump it up to a i7-920xm, but i dont feel i need it right now.

If you think the 17 inch 1600x900 is great, wait till you see a FullHD 1080p one. -
