11.11a are PERFORMANCE drivers for SKYRIM on single GPU. Take a huge guess.

I've been using 11.10 drivers, they work fine for skyrim. Rage on the other hand is a bit tricky to get working right. If you use 11.10 rage loads blue so you have to trick rage into using another open GL driver in order for it to work. but I've had no problems what so ever with that driver with both games.

a new version of ati's drivers should be out soon, that address these problems.

11.11 CAP 2 should fix all performance issues with SR3, if not look into the windowed mode mod. Hope that helps.

Have been using 11.11a performance hotfix driver and have had 0 problems in skyrim.

Do single gpu owners need CAP's?

    I just installed 11.11a over the 11.9 (w/ 11.10 preview drivers) i had.

    No difference in skyrim performance....

dunt know what the CAPs are do they improve skyrim performance?

I see a difference. But then I actually follow the instructions AMD provides on how to install their drivers, unlike you.

whoa someone woke up on wrong side of bed.

I uninstall current drivers first and even CCC. After I install 11.11a package with updated drivers and CCC + other stuff.
I dont install new drivers over old if thats what your thinking.

    Same fps for most part.

AMD once stated that the CAP are also usefull for single GPU owner, as they can contain lalst minute fixes and optimizations which didn't anymore fit into the normal driver release. So yes, it's advisable to also install them.

Instructions? I've been installing straight over my drivers since 10.x. I've never had a single issue. This whole driver sweeper / uninstallation routine is not really necessary unless you're OCD, imo.

As far as the CAPs, they definitely fixed all stuttering issues with SR3 for me.

    Hello guys,

My previous stock vbios was 012.017.000.004 and my previous stock Catalyst details where:

    Driver Packaging Version: 8.683-091217a-092929c
    2D Driver Version 8.01.01.984
    Direct 3D Version 8.14.10.0716
    OpenGL Version 6.14.10.9236
    Catalyst Control Center Version: 2009.1217.1632.29627

Just now, I had the courage to flash my vbios to the "v93 VBIOS for HD5870M" and also to update my Catalyst Driver to the latest one. After successfully flashing my vbios, its version now on my beast is 012.020.000.032.

Then I downloaded the Catalyst Software Suite 11.11 on AMD's website and then uninstalled my previous Catalyst via Control Panel. After restarting, I installed the Catalyst Software Suite 11.11, then it downloaded the file "11-11_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl" and it installed it.

Now, my issue is that the Catalyst details shows me that:

    Driver Packaging Version: 8.911-111025a-128246C-ATI
    2D Driver Version: 8.01.01.1207
    Direct 3D Version: 7.14.10.0873
    OpenGL Version: 6.14.10.11251
    Catalyst Control Center Version: 2011.1025.2231.38573

and I'm wondering why the Direct 3D Version now is 7.14.10.0873 compared to my previous one (stock) that is 8.14.10.0716.

Can someone shed light on this matter?

Some changes I've observed was that on idle, my GPU clock is now 405Mhz compared to 300MHz when on battery saving and 700MHz on maximize performance on my previous setup. I also observed some drop in temperature readings around 3C on my GPU thermal diode (using HWiNFO64). I also noticed a drastic increase in FPS on PS2 emulation using PSX while playing ZoneOfTheEnders 2.
