everything was working fine between my G73 and my new altec lansing 2.1 speaker. I just came back from holiday and relize my bass subwoofer is making buzzing bass sound (it likes the sound when you close your mouth and vibrate your throat), it's not loud but very annoying.
I first thought it was the speaker but when i hook it up to other devices, it works fine. It's not my window or driver as well, because the speaker makes sound even when my g73 turns off.
I'm damm sure there's something wrong with the 3.5 output but do you guys have any suggestions instead of RMA![]()

It sounds like you may have a grounding issue, or it could be normal interference from the integrated soundcard. There may be low-end interference that's getting amplified and it will be obvious only with a subwoofer... not much you would be able to do about that except turn the bass down, or use an equalizer before the amp. See if it's any better on battery power.

thanks for replying, i got the same buzzing sound on battery and even when my g73 is completely shut down. Just put the jack into the hole and i got that sound from the subwoofer
I think my soundcard or 3.5 output, everything was working fine two days ago. Should i RMA or just get a new USB sound card? -
try a USB soundcard, they're like $2 or so on http://www.dealextreme.com/

Do you have another audio cable you could try? Maybe it's gone bad.
You haven't upgraded any drivers since this started, right? -
No i haven't upgraded any drivers lately.
I just tested, the buzzing sound do exist when i unpludged the cable but at a level that's nearly impossible to hear. when i pludge the cable in my laptop, the same buzz is amplified to an annoying level.
I might try with another cable soon. -

A certain amount of noise is normal, especially with a cable unplugged. But if the buzz is something new maybe your subwoofer's speaker wire is loose, or maybe there's another issue with your speaker setup. If the buzz doesn't exist at all if you plug it into something else, then it's likely not the speaker's problem, and is with your G73 or the cable connecting to it.
