A little bit of history on the computer: I bought a G51J three years ago. 2 years ago, a spill killed my motherboard. Asus provided the repair guys with a motherborad from the G60 series
Recently, my graphic card, GTX 260M has been causing problems, sent it to repair, they tried to heat it up or whatnot, and replace the connections
My computer now works, but when playing a game (LOTRO), the computer freezes after a few min, or even shuts down
Few questions :
Can the graphic card be fixed ? meaning did the tech not do his job properly
If the card is not fixable, what are my options for replacement ?
And lastly, where can I find prices/order either a better card, or the same one
Thanks for your help

Hi
Probably you're right. How old is your VGA?
IMHO you'll have two choises: reballing or VGA replacement to fix your problem.
About compatible VGA ask in Asus branch of this forum. -
About the VGA: probably you'll need MXM 3.0 B with 75W TDP (GTX260M, gtx460m, gtx280m, gtx470m, gtx560m, gtx570m...)
You can find them on eBay or take a look at F.S. branch -

I do believe it's not a standard MXM board so you need to buy a specific asus one with a different direction slot and mounting holes for the heatsink.

I've found this. It's defenitaly NOT MXM VGA
