new vbios/cata 10.8 problem

I was at school working on excel (nothing special) and some atififacts started to appear at some places like the start menu, the power4gear stuff (volume, brightness, turbo, ...) and it was getting worse and worse. I did a restart and now everything is fine. Never had anything like this before, except on stock vbios when updating drivers.

The question is was is just a random fail that could happen 1/100000000 of the times or was it due to the vbios or ati driver? I don't know if anybody else had this before.


*EDIT : I just ran trackmania and changed the AA and the graphics screwed up, closed the game. Also, my idle temps seems to be higher, probably no big deal... Just pissing me off to be getting issues when everything was running really great

 

This is a completely off topic post, but I too was working with excel at school today. Judging by the time of your post, we could easily be in the same class. You don't happen to go to NCSU do you?

Back to your question though, I haven't seen this happen on mine.
