Just curious, I was wondering how many processes people have on their g73 without anything running.

I have a total of 63. minus firefox would be 62. Just curious since I'm wondering if I have too much running. Most likely I may be in the high range due to the programs I have installed such as adobe, 3ds max, etc.

edit - O, also mention if you did a fresh install or not for windows if you will. I never did a fresh install of windows.

50 for me, 118 for all users

Count threads, not processes (which have one or more associated threads)...

Windows schedules threads, not processes, so thread count is slightly more meaningful. The counts are not very meaningful since what the threads are doing generally has more performance impact than how many threads exist.

    Hello,

With my G73 Up and Running with my "daily" work load - I have 105 Processes Running.

At this point I've only used up 31% 2.5GB of the 8GB available RAM - Lots of overhead available for doing more and more.

    In Peace and Agape,
    Trav...

I did a clean install months ago, my laptop has gotten a lot crap since then. The processes doesn't really matter since everybody does different things and installs varying amounts of stuff.

just closed 3ds max (was using for hours) and my memory shot up to 1.91 from 1.49. But yea, i7 is so ownage it seems no matter what I do it doesn't suffer from anything lol only thing I need really is a faster hardrive xD.

gadgets I found are pretty cool. all cpu meter shows temps (only with coretemps installed), percent used on each thread, and ram in use, free, and total.

next gadget I have shows clock speed (not very useful since its not real time), battery life, and wireless strength. this is called margu-NotebookInfo2

last one, gpu observer shows ati vid series, gpu temps, fan speed, gpu load, and gpu clock speeds in real time.

All my info is just Rainmeter sexiness, no gadgets since I eventually found them kind of ugly and not as sleek.

I got 61 counting, 1 for firefox and 1 for the windows task manager going. I did a fresh install and only loaded the most needed programs from the Asus website, but I am also running OS 7 Pro.

Well the clock and system info is one called Dark Rainmeter. The line bar things and the weather are just ones I found through google so you're on your own there.
