i have been looking on the forums about oc my 2630qm in my G73sw, but i have not had much luck. (not much people seem to have the the sw by the way) but the most i can find is setfsb. i read that it has to be purchased to use it for oc, but before i buy it i want to know if it will work. and if it does work, what are some stable speeds?

My understanding is that the G73 series cannot OC the CPU unless you buy a new CPU and install. Why would you want to OC the 2630qm. I dont get any lag caused by it. If you really want it snappy install a SSD.

I have no lag, i love the 2630, i just use maya which is very cpu intensive and I would like to oc a little to see how much performance I gain. But what I am reading is the 2630 cannot be oced because it has something to do with sandybridge

Locked Sandy Bridge processors sadly have something between 0-3% OC potential, and from what I've read even workarounds that allow a very minor OC lead to major instability.
