Just wondering if the warranty for Asus machines work exactly like Dells? Basically, if I was to sell my G73...would I have to go through any special steps to transfer ownership in case the buyer needs warranty support on the laptop in the future? I tried using google, but it didn't return any good results. Appreciate the responses.

I believe Asus only warranties thier products for the original purchaser. If you sold it, it would, technically, not have a warranty to the new buyer.

Now, I do know that Asus does go off of manufacture date for things such as motherboards, in that, as long as you are within the warranty timeframe for a given product, they have no issue dealing with RMAs. But, that is for motherboards, I do not know if it applies to laptops as well.

But, as long as you provide a copy of the original invoice to whomever you sold the laptop to, I would doubt they would have any issues getting warranty work done as long as they provided a copy of the invoice whne they RMA.

the 2 year warranty is transferable, the 1 year accidental warranty is not.

Thank you guys. Is there a form or anything that needs to be filled out? Or as TallRed mentioned, I just need to provide a receipt from GenTech for the buyer to use when using the warranty?
