I have an Asus G73SW-XA1 that is powering on, keyboard lights up, hear noises, but screen stays black. I have researched this quite a bit. Tried connecting to another monitor so I know it's not backlighting problem. Tried the "remove battery, hold power button for 60 seconds, power on, replace battery, etc" trick but that doesn't work. Next thing I seem to see suggested in troubleshooting guides is to check memory modules. Myboyfriend (who builds desktops but knows little of laptops) said the memory sticks are "in a case" and he can't access them or something. It was at this point that he got frustrated and told me to figure it out myself. MIwould like to avoid taking to a shop if necessary because I am a full time college student living off scholarships and financial aid right now, and can't afford to pay hundreds. By the way, I bought it in 2011 so warranty has expired. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
