Eh. The preview ATI driver packages don't update the version number after installing.

This problem seems to happen when a driver sweeper is used. It happened to me and I did a bunch of reading, tried multiple things and nothing worked. I finally used the system restore, went back to a date prior to the removal of the drivers and was then able to do the reinstall.

Don't worry about CCC not showing the new version it's a known bug that has been in existance for a very long time. NEVER EVER use driver sweeper to remove ATI drivers.

I use it everytime and no such problem here.. Happened once but not after that with 11 series drivers.

I've used it every time (at least 5 times now) and every upgrade has gone without a hitch. As long as you use it right, it's fine to use.

RYRL!?!?!! what is your source???. I always clean the leftover ati files with driver sweeper and never had the version bug. Here is what can I read from my unit with 11.4 preview installed on it:

I currently have three ATI equipped laptops and have had many in the past.

My driver upgrade system has always been as follows.

1.) Remove all installed ATI software/drivers in Control Panel/Programs and Features.
2.) Manually delete any and all remaining folders with ATI in their name from Program Files and/or Program Files (x86)
3.) Turn off computer and boot into Safe Mode.
4.) Run Driver Sweeper while in Safe Mode and remove all ATI entries completely.
5.) Boot back into Windows as normal, making certain that a generic VGA driver is installed. I shut off all connectivity as well so no drivers are auto installed. (If an ATI driver is installed at all I uninstall that driver from the Hardware Manager and make sure to check the box that deletes the driver files.)
6.) Once the system is free of all ATI drivers/software/files I install my new driver package.
    7.) Reboot.

Not once has this method given me any issue whatsoever. My version number has always been correct and all drivers have operated perfectly for day to day Windows usage and 3D gaming.

I'm a big fan of ATI video cards and have spent a lot of time with them.

I just run Setup.exe. No issues so far. \o/ Don't even need a reboot sometimes.

ATI Crap Cleaner.bat and/or Driver Sweeper only when the defecation his the oscillation.

Otherwise, why make something harder than its supposed to be.

I've also noticed that the CCC starts up way quicker with these new driver package, compared to the older ones. About 30 times faster. The previous ones would slow boot-up to a functional desktop by at least 50 seconds, while the new one starts up almost instantly.
