uinstall all your creative software and realtek audio and HDMI drivers and run driver sweeper. Than go to asus support site and download the creative drivers and go to relatek site and download the lastest audio and HDMI drivers. Install the realtek ones and than the creative.

this all started last night when playing Starcraft 2. I loaded a custom map for the first time and immediately got a vertical bars crash. This is the first crash I got of the vertical bars since I flashed vBios in October.
But the custom games can mean custom sounds. So could that crash have been because of a custom sound and not graphics? The crash was then followed by three restarts, each one from the stupid random freeze that I thought I fixed 2 months ago by removing Creative software.
So can the famous G73 vertical bars crash be related to the random freezes? I always thought vertical bars was a graphics problem and the random freeze was sound.
update today:
The first crash happened in a game of Starcraft 2, then another crash happened in another game. If I sat in the game lobby or general login, it would not crash but as soon as a game starts it crashes within minutes. I just started a game up and left the computer on, and it ran for an hour against the AI without crashing. Looks like it will only crash when I am active, because if I play it inevitably freezes within 10 minutes
this is after doing the following: removal of creative and realtek with driver sweeper. reinstall realtek 2.58. update ati catalyst control suite from 11.2 to 11.3. did not find any hdmi drivers to uninstall. i was using very old realtek drivers, version 2.52
random freeze g73jh
