    Hello,
I have a g73j that is having screen issues. Basicly the screen will not show anything (just black) or it will just show random colors or lines. But if i put light pressure on the back of the screen the issue goes away. (Right now i have the screen pressed against part of the desk).

1.) am I correct in assuming this is just a screen issue? everything else is working fine.
2.) How hard would it be to replace the screen on my own. (i have built pcs in the past and i have the tools to do it). The back light is a fluorescent lamp if that makes a difference, can I replace with a led blacklight model?
3.) Has anyone else had this issue? I've checked for loose wires, but there didnt seem to be any. (were all in the proper place).

    Thank you for the help.
(i can provide pictures of the issue if needed.)

It's either the screen or the LCVD cable that is going bonkers. There's at least thread here on screen replacement for the G73 with all the necessary instructions.

I don't know about the switch from CCFL to LED though (my guess is yes since almost all G73s have w-led LCDs), i'm also surprised you don't already have a wled display in there.

I had an almost similar issue with a toshiba of mine, and like tijo said, the cable behind the screen was loose. Definitely check that out once before contemplating to buy a new one..
