hello there i'm thinking of getting the ASUS ROG G752VS gaming laptop, for anyone who has this laptop, is it a great gaming laptop and would u recommend it, I read on reviews the speakers aren't great but on a youtube review I read they can be changed on the settings so they are louder. So would you recommend this laptop?
Thanks

If you don't mind the size, I'd probably look at either the Alienware 17 or a Clevo design.

is the G752VS audio great? how good are razer blade laptops?

Audio is mediocre on the G752. As for Razer - if you can live with their horrible customer support (the worst in the industry), lack of QA/QC and extreme fan noise then yes, they are okay-ish.
-
and remember your cpu is limited to 75w while overclocking, the advertised 4ghz oc on the g752vs is a lie from asus! -
a youtube review on the G752VS said about the audio being not great is this:
Everyone says the speakers suck on the g751 and g752 models, yet its because the speakers are set to stereo. You can simply go to the audio wizard program & set to war room then in the top put bass and tremble to max & click the maxxvolume and maxxleveler so they appear red. Then to change the sound dramatically you just right click on the volume icon in the bottom right of your desktop screen & click playback devices then right click on speakers & choose configure speakers. Just change it from stereo to 5.1 surround & your speakers will sound better than the MSI laptop speakers. Your're welcome : )
is this true? -

As an owner of an Asus laptop who has access to the same software - no. The software tuning cannot compensate for the lack of bass and distortion at max volume. The speakers are mediocre.

what ASUS ROG do u have?the user on youtube went through the audio and volume settings and came with the solution and after that they said they r awesome

You can see my signature - GL502VT - it has the exact same audio software, most likely similar speakers as well.
Honestly, one random guy on youtube is not really a credible source when you have dozens of experienced review outlets like NBR, NoteBookCheck, Junky and etc saying the speakers are mediocre. If you want, go to a local store and ask the guys for a demo between say the G752 and something like Lenovo's Y700 - even the lower-end Y700 has vastly superior JBL-speakers. It's a cost cutting measure on the G752 - Asus has to lower licensing and production costs somehow so the speakers got shafted as most gamers nowadays use headphones. If you don't believe me, buy it and you will see for yourself. The speakers on the G751 and G752 have always been mediocre and are still nothing special. Tis' how it is. -
yeah but the guy has an ASUS G752VS and he went through the settings and other people did the same and worked

If you want to ignore the advice experienced people give and buy a product because a random Youtube video does not support professional critics then that is your own decision. Just know that your decision is also your responsibility. We won't be able to help when the audio does in fact perform much worse than in that video.

Still waiting for my G752VS from HIDEvolution, so I am not answering from direct experience. Laptop sound, in general, is mediocre compared to a good pair of headphones. This is magnified when using a USB DAC like the AudioQuest DragonFly. If you want surround sound for gaming, get an external speaker set, and position the 2 rear speakers properly.
The "subwoofers" that I have seen in laptops lately are ~1 inch in diameter. The more EQ the electronics have to perform to make usable bass from these tiny speakers, hidden in a plastic box, is large, and disruptive to the sound.
I know that the relative quality of sound from the different laptops can be compared, and contrasted. Most objective testing I have seen online consists of using an SPL meter to see how loud the speakers play, not and quality measure. Not that subjective opinions of sound quality are without merit.
I look for notebook specs for the things that laptops do. I make the assumption that laptop sound will be for occasional use only, as I use headphones about 99% of the time. So, sound wise, I spend my time on USB DACs and headphones.
I do like researching the web, and will try the surround settings mentioned above before system wipe, and clean Win10 install.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
