Temps have been getting progressively worse throughout the time I have been gaming on the weekends. When I bought the machine, the highest it ever got during a 2 hour stint of Crysis was 84C (GPU). I was just playing STALKER SoC and I was shocked to exit the game and find my max temp at 95C (GPU).

The CPU still sits at around 62C maximum after stress testing for ten minutes or so, and won't go any higher, but the GPU is worrying me. I'm scared of testing Furmark on this thing for fear of it hitting thermal shutdown.

Anyway, should I repaste this thing?

Image attached is of temps after a two hour session of STALKER.

BIOS 209 (Don't like more noise at idle), running Gary's vBIOS, and running Catylyst 10.8 drivers.

I'll go and test Furmark now.

EDIT: A 5 minute session of Furmark brought it to it's knees. After only 5 minutes, it was already up to 101C...looks like it's repaste time.

Any suggestions for a good TIM to use? Must be available in Australia, and it has to be good.

211 didn't really lower my temps compared to the stock bios. before repasting, it would reach the peak temperature regardless of whether the fan is on at max. 211 doesn't increase the maximum speed of the fans, it just turns on the maximum speed earlier.

I saw that earlier while I was researching...think I might go with the popular ICD7. Seems to be easily obtainable enough, and relatively good. Thanks for the help mate. :)

Shin-Etsu X23-7783D (probably the best, but hard to get)
ICD7 (accepted as one of the best)
    Tunix TX4 (new one)
Artic Cooling MX3 or MX4 (new one)

u can watch the video in youtube..there is the disassembly guide there just follow what he does and if u have the guts do it hehehe..its quite simple actually but just watch out for the cables behind the keyboard like the led cable speaker cable and so on..or maybe u can bring to a computer/laptop service center and ask them to help u..(but first let them see the video first)hehehe..

    good luck..
