some more info gtx 260m notebooks

Hello guys this is my first post here, though i read though loads of threads , when doing research on laptops before.

So i was looking to buying new laptop for lanning as carrying my desktop around is just to much now, so keep mind it in post that i do have desktop with i7, hd 6970 , etc etc.

First choice was of couse the cheap g73s from newegg, but it seems the exchange rate has gone up in my country, know im leaving that for now, i live pretty far, have someone buying up in usa then shipping it to me.

ok so far i saw g72 and g51vx got my attention ,gtx 260m based.

was thinking to go vx 51vx as smaller screen resolution so i will games at max res longer then g72 would be able to.

it does have less ram and weaker cpu i am aware of it.

so my questions is:

1. will g51 vx play lan games into next year?

think should be :
mw3
bf3 ( wont have lan i think?)
dota it will play

think thats what i mostly play cod and dota.

2. can i use my current ocz vertex 2 100gb in with like 1tb sata 2.5 ?

3.is easy to install like t9800 cpu? any bios flash need?( they seem to be cheap on ebay)

4. Is there any type of gpu performance laptops in this price range on ebay or stores?

think thats all, main reason is lanning laptop and i love the white back cover of g51vx

Instead just get a g51j

U won't have to upgrade ur CPU as it has an i7 720qm

1. Yes g51vx will run those games not max setting but It will run

The G51Vx is still a good machine, but the CPU is its major weak point, and the cooling isn't as good as the J or Jx. There's an awesome overview of the G51 series cooling differences on the ROG forums here: G51 Series thermal design differences

I'm not sure BF3 (or mw3) will play very well on a 260M, that might be asking a bit much. It's not out yet so who knows.

seems i7 just out of my price range but i will keep close eye on deals etc.

 

You could get something like an MSI ge600 or ms-1675 barebones and upgrade it to a 6770m gddr5 and i7, maybe a gt 555m later on.

Also the gx640 could be one of the best newer laptops in your price range, however, the build quality is not so good.

seems i might got good offer on Asus G71GX-RX05 from company even shipping to my country at good price.

the cpu decent ,which i can upgrade to quad core i believe?
or is same with g51/g60 bb models that cant take it?
