i got the laptop today with fresh install of windows 7 and brand new bios (209) but i just installed mw2 and it started and went to black screen then after tried it again and went to low res menue but no mouse movement, it installed through steam and took unusually long since i had the discs for it, so i dont think he flashed the vbios, so is it ok if i flash the vbios without doing a fresh install? im installing bfbc2 to see if it is videocard

If it says bios 209 in programs like hwinfo, its definitely bios 209 so that shouldnt be a problem.. you can always flash to bios 213 but that wont help with this particular issue in any way..

i know this might be a dumb question but after the fresh windows 7 install, did you install the latest drivers(11.5)?

hmm well if you get problems with other games too try doing a complete uninstall of the drivers and reinstalling..
also, iirc mw2 has a safemode startup option, try starting it in that to see it that helps and then change the game's video settings..

that's normal, these mobile cpu's dont maintain constant clocks when not under load..
anyway as far as you gaming problem goes, try other games to see if you're having any problems, it could just be an issue with this particular game..
