I uninstalled lifeframe but i read that that isnt essential for the webcam to function. all my webcam drivers seem to be okay.

AFAIK, you need to use an application to put it to use, like Skype, or that Asus app that allows you to login via face recognition. That is a good question I think. Don't be disappointed if the image quality is not great, there are a few threads about that in the gaming forum.

Try to take a picture of yourself in facebook with it. Or Gmail chat.

The program that comes with the G73 for this is called Life Frame. It will do still and motion capture. I think it has some silly background effects you can add too, if you want.

Fn plus V opens it. I know this because I do it all the time. Every time I miss the Ctrl V for a paste operation, I accidentally do Fn plus V and then I have to wait for the camera to finish initializing so I can close the stupid thing.

I'm always afraid my picture is going to break the LCD like every time I pass a mirror! :)

I figure it might come in handy. I have no idea what for, though.

I don't think it would be any good for that. You should get one of those Flip Video things. They are perfect for HD YouTube videos and they are pretty darn cheap.

i was keeping it lifeframe also but i figured out that actually i don't use it...
i couldn't use those effects in MSN or SKYPE and i uninstalled it

btw it would be good if someone finds out how to improve the frames of the camera

i believe everything is poerfectly installed with the correct driver
actually i used a newer driver but it was for the 2.0m camera
but still there is someting strange with the camera
anyone who used skype with it and get the dark picture (with lot frames around 30) and light picture (with less frames around 10-15 frames)

i still can't figure out what was causing that
