I just purchased a new mouse upgrading from my razer one and was thinking of getting a mouse pad. Just purchased a Mionix Naos 5000 - LOVE IT. newegg has it on sale.

But want a mouse pad that works great for laser mouse, any suggestions? recommendations? Id prefer if it didnt have any crazy designs or looks on it.

Do you prefer rubber or plastic?

not sure, ive never owned a mouse pad since ball mice were around lol so NO idea on whats better.
I just like a smooth large surface, id prefer the bottom to be something that would help it stick to my wood desk though. Im guessing plastic will feel a little cheaper? I cant imagine a rubber mat?

I use a Ratpadz GS for the desktop, and a MX Performance and whatever I am on for the laptop. :) (Gotta love Darkfield!)

hmm, just looking for a somewhat large pad, im thinking rubber seems like a better choice. I just wish some local retailers sold mouse pads. best buy has 1 razer one but seemsbasic.

I'm using those cheap Steelseries Qck Rubber Pads, they work great for what I use them for. (small enough to fit in my backpack to carry around and provide good tracking). The Qck model comes in different sizes (large, extra large, medium, small), and they're cheap for what they're worth. The whole pad is black with a Steelseries logo on it, a good choice imo as a mousepad is not really for gawking at and pure black appears more professional.

The SteelSeries QcK mouse pad is really good for the price.

I just googled that mouse and it looks pretty awesome if you're into wired mice. I use a Logitech Performance MX and if anyone wants to take if from me it will be from my cold dead fingers.

I don't own this one but it has 487 reviews and 82% of them are five eggs. That's how I shop for little things that I don't have a proper opinion about:

Are you using this with a external keyboard connected to your laptop? What I do is take the end thats hanging over your desk and tuck it under your keyboard, looks better that way.

no, my setup is my laptop on a smaller desk/stand thing. than another smaller one to the right, I use my laptop keyboard for everything and just have a mouse on the table to the right, and its around 16x16. Im thinking of the XTAC Pad, a little bigger than id like but or the price seems great

Yeah the details say it's 11X17. For thirteen bucks I'd take a pair of scissors to that sucker. It's only .1 inches thick. You could trim it to any size you want. Cut it in half and have two mouse pads. :)

    Anywhere MX indeed. Love it.
I recommend a rubber pad, I have no love for plastic ones.
On the go, I just use whatever. :3

Just got the Goliathus a few days ago, it is great! Apparently there is an over-sized and also a speed edtion, I got a control and a normal sized one, it is much better than a normal mouse pad because the rubber makes it less affected by the unsmooth surfaces.

I have a steelseries IceMat, I guess I just found out that they're not even made anymore. It's a huge glass surface. I don't think I'd be able to live without it. That + razer lachesis is my desktop setup, on the go I use the touchpad or a razer orochi with no surface.
