Ok sorry if I am really getting annoying but i jsut want to learn more about my laptop and make sure i don't waste money.

i talked about i wanted to buy a t9600 to replace my 2.0ghz, so to prove that my drop frame is actually a cpu problem, i overclocked my p7350 to 2.4ghz and the performance of gaming(mw2) def went up and got better, reduced drop frame, at least for 10 minutes.

but after 10 minutes, the screen would lag for about 0.1 sec every now and then, is that a sign of overheating problem? if so, will ugprading the cpu to t9600 help? (I was thinking if I don't overclock the 2.8ghz and let it run at natural 2.8ghz it should be fine?), if not , what can i do? cooling mod? cooling pad(i tried one of those 5 bucks cooling pad, not that great).

    advice? suggestions?

what I have in mind is that: if it's going to be this much trouble for me to upgrade my gears, should i just try to sell my current laptop and stack on a few buck to get a better laptop?

Install HWMonitor and run it, then play CoD for a while. Post a screen shot of the temps HWMonitor reports.

I upgraded my Asus to P8700 a while back.

for about 5 minutes for not overclock (sorry the 2nd and 3rd are the non overclock), the one with 2 temp together are the overclocked ones and i played with OC for about 10-15 miintes

maybe i am recording it wrong? I alt and ctrl out of the game(still in game but looking at desktop) when i record the temps.

You actually don't need to alt control out of the game to record temps. Just open WMonitor before you start playing, then check it after your're done. I suggest playing for 20-30 minutes to get a good idea of the temps.

I didn't, mine ran quite cool. The hiccup you are experiencing could have something to do with the overclock. try overclocking to 2.2-2.3GHz.

I see, so overheating problem don't usually come with higher clock speed but a FORCED higher clock speed?

Well, a P8800 2.66GHz shouldn't run any hotter than your P7350. But, yes overclocking does increase heat.

well I am worried since t9600 TDP is 35W which is 10 W higher than my p7350 2.0ghz (25W), but I have heard that this is irrelevant.

I wouldn't worry too much, the temps you posted are great, a T9600 will only raise them a few C.

thanks, so if i get t9600 and let it run at natural 2.8 i shouldn't be getting to much hiccup?

and just in case it does get hot, can a good cooling pad be replace a cooling mod?

It would help for sure. Probably a few C lower. Make sure you use a good thermal paste. I use Antec Formula 5. You could also re-paste the GPU while your at it. I'd leave any thermal pads you find intact.

    Same as re-pasting the processor.

I don't know of a guide for you laptop, but the links below should give a good idea of the process.
