The G73sw is my first new computer in ten years. I did a clean install and updated the drivers. Today there are more drivers to update from all the different companies and if it wasnt for this website I would be lost. So I do appreciate Chastity's links and such. I was having my touch pad freeze when I scrolled along the borders of the touchpad, but that is gone now and I do like the disabling of the touchpad when a mouse is plugged in. And I just flashed to SD 25 for my Seagate drive. My question is there are so many drivers to be aware of but my laptop runs great now, how important is it really to keep updating drivers? With the laptop working fine now, checking on this webpage everyday is excessive and checking everyday 2 weeks to a month, I will not remember this. From my point of view the only significant driver to keep updating is the video card. For example the new firmware for the harddrive, I have no clue what that did. IS there anyone who has a perspective on this how significant it is to keep updating drivers. THanks for your time

though I have to say, I downloaded Halflife Episode 1 cause I have never played, and this beast of a laptop does lag once in awhile which is disappointing, don't see how this will work out well when battlefield 3 comes out

Doman26 - It seems there are 2 schools of thought. Some want to eke out every FPS possible and will go to great lengths. (benchmarks B4 and after updates for example). To them I say thanks, and always rep them when something they post helps me to solve an issue.
I am in the school - if it is not broke don't fix it. For example I ran on stock drivers for my video card for 8 months and it seemed fine to me.
I found a version of ATK/BIOS/ TP drivers that fixed all my issues here so there is no reason to change any of them. (same with Video card IMO)
Firmware and BIOS and VBIOS can be tricky- a mistake or bad luck can brick the computer. I always read all I can B4 chaniging either.

Why bother with looking for drivers everywhere, when you can use Drivermax?

    DriverMax - free driver updates

Free Version: 2 drivers per day

If you re-install a lot, get the Pro Version.
