    Hi, i own a g51j 3d and i'm thinking about replacing the stock 2gb*2gb 1066mhz ram for a 4gbx4gb 1333mhz, I would like to know:
    if it's worth the upgrade
know if someone has made this upgrade and
what brand of ram do you advice?

    Thanks in advance

If the most intensive thing you do on the laptop is game, i wouldn't bother adding more than 8GB.

I meant 8GB in total, i've busted over 4 when gaming, but never over 8.

Anything from a decent brand, Crucial, Gskill, Mushkin, corsair, Kingston, etc will do. If you plan to keep the RAM you already have in the laptop, i suggest you try matching the clock speeds and timings just to be on the safe side.

Make sure that your motherboard is compatible with 1333mhz RAM.

I have a G60JX and I believe that it only supports up to 1066mhz RAM, but it does allow you to have 8GB of it via two 4GB sticks.

I believe the motherboards on our systems are very similar, so just a heads up.
