Even thought I know I wont be doing it for some time, just out of curiousity with the talk of all these new more powerful CPU's and gpu's coming out, if its possible to upgrade each? I've never changed out anything in a laptop except for ram and hdd, but for desktops i've built many numerous times.

Just interested if its possible say come summer time to buy a new CPU and GPU instead of a whole laptop?

For the CPU, i think you could go to a max of 940XM(or a 920Xm if i'm mistaken). The GPU would be upgradeable if AMD/Nvidia would issue a compatible card

Yes the CPU is possible, but not worth it IMO, the cost vs. the speed increase is ridiculous. The GPU's are a unique form for Asus, this makes an upgrade of the GPU difficult if not impossible. The only upgrade that gives a noticeable boost is an SSD.
