I recently received the g73sw, I did a clean install, and followed the instructions to reinstall all drivers. Everything has worked out, I noticed after a couple days I have an exclamation in the device manager for a universal serial bus controller. I tried letting windows update to take care of this and even the hardware fixing thing. Both do the same thing where drivers are downloaded from microsoft. It acts like the driver is installed but then says there is an error as the device has no driver installed, like some type of loop. I deleted it from the device manager and on a reboot, windows found it and tried to install again. Same problem, only difference now is that if i try to update the driver says windows could not find driver software for your device. A friend said it could be an em driver and I should look on the asus site. I dont know where to look for an em driver and secondly, I dont know what hardware it is, to even know what drivers to look for. The other glitch I get is with the touchpad I think. I would be moving the pointer around and a blob that kind of resembles a cd appears next to the pointer and I cant move the mouse. After happening many times, it goes away once I stop touching the touchpad, any ideas on what this is and how to fix? THanks for the help

Could it be your USB3.0 Controller? I don't think that updates through Windows Update. If that's the case, go to your notebook's product download page on the ASUS site and download the driver in the USB tab.
The icon you're referring to is the scroll indicator, if you have the Synaptic touchpad driver installed. It'll enter scroll mode if you swipe vertically on the far-right or horizontally on the bottom of the touchpad. That feature is on by default but you can disable it in the settings. I left it on. It's annoying at first but once you get a feel for where the margins are, it's fine. -
i appreciate the response, i did already figure out the driver, i just tried a few different things, the instructions page on this website, i either read wrong, or they told me to download the wrong usb 3.o driver, and i see what you are saying about getting use to the touchpad, im not a fan though, i installed some update to the touchpad, and it stopped, dont know why, but everything is good now, cheers!!
