well i started to have problem where when I start to play a game in about 5 to 10 mins the video would get all jerky and I could not play. I could pause for a bit and then it would be fine but it would start again.
I though it was software related so I reinstalled win7 and put on a non modified vid card driver. but I just installed another game and its happening again.
So i have to think that my vid card is either over heating or going bad. I still have warranty so I may have to call Asus to have them fix it.
Any of you all have any suggestion for me to try to to see what could be wrong with my laptop?
Thanks in advance.
Just so you all know this just started happening about 2 weeks ago.

Have you tried cleaning out the vents and installing HWMonitor or something similar to watch temps?
-
I did not even think about my vent. Let me check that. Just installed HWmonitor. I use this pc all the time for HD movies so I was thinking the vid card might be good. I have it hooked up my 32in sharp 1080p monitor and was watching a bunch of 1080p movies. I guess when Im gaming on it it gets hotter. Right now the vid card temp is at 82deg. It shows my max at 85deg. Will try to load up a game again.

well just checked the vents and those are all looking good.
-
well just checked my gpu again and it was at 110c. Is that good or bad.
-
bad.
Either the fan isn't spinning correctly or you're pushing the clocks too high? Perhaps there is dust in the heatsink.
When the laptop is off, use your finger to manually push teh fan and see how it spins, if its able to spin a few rotations easily. Check for dust too.
At your risk: You could try running the laptop with the backpanel off (the inner panel, not the entire thing) and see if that causes a drop (because of increased airflow).
You may want to invest in getting a cooler (like the Zalman NC2000 i think), but that's if you play games often. -
I dont overclock my gpu at all. I just leave it stock. I may have to look at getting a cooler if that will help. Im going to see if asus can fix it first before I do that.

yea if its in warranty, let them do it
-
ya i still have warranty till nov so I just put in a ticket with them about it

if the temps are hitting 110, you are throttling the GPU (its too hot). Clean out the fan!
1)remove the back panel
2)aim some air from the spindle, out towards the vent, move it around in different directions
3)when there is no more refuse exiting the vent, give it a quick spray from outside the vent in, towards the fan spindle.
4)give a quick spray at the board to make sure you loosen any debris, then spray it away
5)close it up (remember, there are 12 screws, including 3 long screws and 1 longer thin one) -
I had the same issue with mine,I just got done cleaning it out,it fixed it.
