You don't need to start windows to flash, I thought you used nvflash? How did you flash the vbios?

Nvflash works per DOS bootable stick. You only have to boot from the USB drive.

Never flash from within Windows, much too risky! Always use the DOS stick, it's also easier to put back the original vbios in case something doesn't work like expected.
Do you have the SW vbios on it now?

Hmm, ok. Did you try to uninstall the driver before flashing the SW vbios?

Like I said, shouldn't matter. You can replace them if you prefer it and flash per DOS!

Hehe, very nice!! Hope it's stable. Shame the voltage is locked by the 460m. The 5850m is so much fun to overclock.

No you can't, unfortunately the vbios of the 460m doesn't allow it, see yourself.

Careful, always know what you're doing when modifying a vbios... the 460m is a fermi based card, you can't just use the voltage table editor. There's the "fermi voltage" tool, but you won't be able to change anything.

I also got the benefit from a SW vbios, my machine is a JW, the highest before was core 823/mem 1600 (Crashed right after reaching 824 not even running Furmark yet) and can now raise up to core 850/mem 1600 (Artifacts started popping but no crashing). Looks like SW's vbios does get JW to a higher core clock without crashing.

I got my core clock stable at 1000MHZ,
    Shader at 2000MHZ,
    and Memory at 3000MHZ.

    Without editing the voltage.
Somewhere above 1000MHZ core clock, the GPU will crash,
above 3000MHZ memory clock, the GPU acts weird with colors.

Other than that, Its Really stable. Temperatures hit At MOST 78 Degrees,
can't get any higher, overheating of the GTX460M is 104 Degrees. But its not
    recommended to go above 85

The usual good stable overclock is like 800mhz, max is around 850, and you're claiming you got 1000. Unless you take a video with your phone or something of the laptop running Furmark, with clocks and temps visible, I can't believe that. ;)

If you have a high OC then it's good. But benchmarks are really just benchmarks we need to test this in games and has to be stable.

Try it on BF3 campaign at 1080p like "A rock and a hard place" campaign again and again without crashing. Try it on Skyrim, Crysis 2 (last few campaigns with aliens), The Witcher 2 ..
Testing OC stability is like atleast 2-4 hrs. stable without the game crashing.

Please post some screenshots (with FPS) of games like BF3 campaign (not online) after playing a whole campaign at least twice to make sure it's stable. Post some crysis 2 also and TW2. I like looking at others game screenshots with frame rates..

    This way you have proof..

is it really possible to get 1000 mhz core ??? I have already reached 880 core so 880/1760-1625mem but it is crashing,,, so my latest stable which is I m using last 5 months at least in every game 855/1710-1625mem voltage is already 0.962 with modified bios instead of initial 0.912,,,
but if you have any additional issues such as 1V we may give a try

Screenshots, screen shots of games in 1080p please......

The Witcher 2, Metro 2033, Crysis 2, BF3 campaign, Skyrim. I'm interested how much FPS you get at 1080p with your OCs..

Show some The Witcher 2 screenshots please at ultra-ish 1080p..

What are your CPU and Gpu temps. We need to see some screenshots (with FPS) of stable OCs..

Screenshots make discussions more fun and interesting..

Core 1000 mhz on a GTX 460M is about a GTX 570M, you are the lucky one I'd say.

Oh, just a tip. Turn off EIST, or Speedstep. This will cause the overclock to be more stable. But your electricity bill may rise abit.

By the way, here are the screenshots from my 460M.. BF3 is at 1080p Ultra texture, the rest medium, No AA.. Skyrim is at 1080p, 4X AA, 16X AF, Ultra, Med. Shadows. Max GPU temp on BF3 and Skyrim is 76*C due to very low OC in exchange for stability.

Hey guys, i'm a owner of Asus G73Jw (i5 swedish model) I'm stable at 800MHz but when i try to over it, the computer would become unstable. Is there anyway of increasing the voltage of my card? Because i really do believe thats the problem, that the card does not get enough power. Can i somehow mod the bios to increase the voltage or would it cause even more problems then i have now? Thanks. :)
