Your gonna need to provide your gpu, cpu is not indicative of performance, although given that it is an i5 that would probably not be good. A dual core mobile i5 would probably bottleneck at least a little in a game like the Witcher 3. Anyway what's your graphics card? If it is the 660m you can run it on like low settings 720p.

yup 660m. the weird thing is that i get the same fps and micro stutter when playing on low OR medium :(

also would putting another 4gb ram into the laptop increase my fps?

That's because your 660M is nowhere close to meeting the minimum requirement

No sorry the gpu is the problem. It's pretty old now and mobile gpus have been advancing in leaps and bounds. Your cpu also could be causing the stuttering. It's time to upgrade if you want to play the Witcher on good settings. However, you would need like a 965m and up for good performance, a desktop would be better performance for the money if you don't need the portability.

i thought that since i can play gta 5 with almost everything at ultra (except shadows and population density and variety) i should have no problem with witcher 3 at low :( even with 1150 core overclock i still get that annoying stutter

How the hell do you not have a vram issue with those settings? Also what frame rate do you get? I can't even hit 60fps with my 980m on ultra. I mean I only have to drop like a couple things like the highest grass setting and one shadow, but still how can you be anywhere near there? I'm fairly sure my settings use more than 2 gigs of VRAM easily also.

i play gta 5 with overclock: 1140 core and 2800 memory. i have the G46 asus laptop that has a very efficient cooling system. maybe that s why i can have this kind of performance? :(

Ohhhhhhhhh, that explains a lot lol. The witcher 3 on ultra only hits like 30 fps, high settings hits 60.

the thing is that i think that my so called stuttering is because there s a problem with the game itself. i only get the stutter when i m walking .. not when i run :(

That's really odd, did you try a different gpu driver set?
