Performance wise, probably not by a lot on benchmarks, but the overall upgrade in CPU, Graphics, Memory and HDD is worth the wait. The F8Sn should be introduced some time in March. Thanks!

Well, I wouldn't base my decision on benchmark performance, but real-life performance. Disregarding speed advantages now, if the F8Sn is a Penryn/nVidia 9XXX notebook then there might be some battery gain, and that alone might be worth the wait. On the other hand, it seems another Penryn model still has the "ASUS Golden Standard" battery life of 2:30, so don't expect much battery gain, if any. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=218960
I think the general advice still stands: if you need a notebook now, get it now. -
Yea, I guess you can't regret getting something, espically technology.
Would there be a signifcant gain on battery life though? -
probably just a little bit better but you won't notice in real world usage according to Garfunkel on his M51Sn.

lovely thread! anyone want to swap my NEC for one of these? I'll pay for the postage if you just send it
I just want one -
hey, the palmrest area of this laptop is it the same material as the asus A8 laptops. what is it made of , plastic?
-
No it's not the same, the palmrest on F8SV is called IMR (In-mold roller, In-mold decoration) or ASUS Infusion Technology that can resisting scratches.
-
Anyone know how much a F8sn will cost when it comes out?
-
Around $1900-$2000 AUD or about $1600-$1700 US
