I've heard of people using "wii" or variations to get it to show also. I used "olympus camera" to get my 1030SW Olympus digicam, so I think it's just a matter of tricking the search engine to show the link. The link itself is not product specific, so any trigger will work.

I've used 'ASUS laptops' and it always comes up. I've tried PSP and it works as well. I think normally people use Wii, Xbox or PS3 to get it to come out. Hope this helps

I just tried again. Do this. Delete all your cookies and cache.
    Go to www.live.com
type 'ASUS laptops' without the quotation marks.

You should get to the screen on my attachment file.

    @ideoteque

Yes. I got exactly the same screen as you did. But that link won't bring you to ebay but just a list of MS's cashback partners...

    I just checked this:
    www DOT taylorwilsdon DOT com/deals/current-ebay-live-cashback-amount
(sorry, I can't post URLs now)
Some people also found it inactive right now ...hopefully it'll be back soon... :(

Anyway, thanks for your kind help! :)

    You're welcome.

Yeah. I've just tried clicking on that link and like you said it is not linking to ebay right now. Hopefully it will work soon. Good luck.

The deal is dead for now.. I believe most items went down to 8% cashback.
There's some speculation that it will go back up.. Since its inception in June, its went anywhere from around 3% to 30 or 35%..

    Hello Everyone

I just wanted to share a detail about Cashback. I made an Ebay purchase (ASUS G50VT-A1 from BTOTech) using the Live cashback rebate on 11/13. I was freaking out because the rebate was not appearing on my Cashback account at live.com and I was afraid of getting screwed.

I did a little digging through Live.com's help and discovered that I needed to go to My Ebay Messages and follow the "You've earned cash back" messages link to finish the process (and start the 60 day waiting period).

I did this and everything is cool--my rebate appears in the Pending section at Live.com.

    I hope this helps someone.

The cashback rebate is back up and running - I searched for "cheap wii" or "wii cheap" and got the sponsored ebay link at the top with the cashback logo.

Also, when I got my rebate, it did not show up in my cashback.live.com account until the next day, after following the link from the ebay message inbox. Good luck and hope everyone catches a good deal!

Just found a coupon that could have been applied to my purchase. Could have save me an extra $100 with the $200 live.com cashback bringing it to a total savings of $300.

    Ebay coupon code: CHOLIDAYNOV2008

Not too happy about not finding out about this earlier. But for those looking to get one... That $100 could have gotten me a sweet external monitor =(

Actually I successfully applied this coupon on top of live.com 25% during my checkout, but when I logged into PayPal to pay, they caught me and said the coupon was invalid! :( I read somewhere saying that the coupon must be used with the email address which ebay sends the coupon to. So I think that's why they can identify if you are eligible for the coupon by the email address you provided.

I also heard that you have to spend *enough* in ebay to get them send you the coupons. If you get one in your ebay account, then it's said to be possible to combine the coupon with the live.com 25% offer.

Go to "My Messages" in ebay and look for a message saying that you are eligible for a $200 cashback. Click the link "Get Cashback" or whatever it asks you to do; it will link to a page where you can create or log into your live.com cashback account. As long as you log in, you will be able to see your cashback amount. Mine appeared right after my purchase, but I heard that it may take up to 24 (or 48) hours to appear in your cashback account. It will also say what date your cashback is available to transfer to your own paypal or bank account. Good luck! :)

I think I must have read that somewhere on slickdeals. And you are right. I only clicked on the apply coupon button and didn't actually proceed to buy it since I already bought it and assumed that the price/coupon would be valid when you pay. So what you are getting at is that the coupon is valid only for it's intended user they send with the email so the general population couldn't use it.

Well it's good to know this thing. I feel slightly better with an odd sense of guilt. Another $100 off would make this laptop amazing.

iubmartin: So I presumed you committed to buy the laptop and found out later while trying to pay on ebay that you had to pay the full $1159 and not the $1059? Anyway the 60 days could not come fast enough to get the $200 back.

Well, after you click on message on ebay it will bring you to live.com to set up the cashback account there. Wait for a day or two and the $200 cashback will show up in the account. I don't think they will send you an email. You just have to log on to live.com.

After that wait for 60 days and transfer your money back to paypal. =)

Yeap, the company should send you the info or if they don't you can request for it. THey are usually pretty get at letting you know when they ship the item.

What I bought is N50Vn-C1s, so it's $1345 before the $200 cashback. And yes, I found out I had to pay the full $1345 instead of $1245 with the ebay 10% coupon when I was prompted to PayPal. Actually, I also tried several other coupons but none of them worked for me. :( But anyway, the $200 cashback is still a great deal! Can't wait to transfer that pending amount to my account! :p

With an Ebay 10% off coupon that they have given to many - but not all - people.
Surprisingly, the Ebay coupon and the Live.com deal seem to "stack" together, so you can get $300 off!

Okay, it worked after I signed out of live.com and my ebay account and did the search that way. Guess they are making it so that constant shoppers (that are always logged in) won't get the discount on everything they buy.

Bummer by Paypal card hasn't arrived yet and it's not activated yet, so I have to wait to purchase ;( Hoping the cash back for live.com stays around a few more weeks.

I just tried and the banner showed up in live.com, but when it linked to ebay the banner disappeared. I guess that's just a technical problem. Hope they will fix it soon. Good luck! :)

P.S. You don't have to log into live.com to get the banner.

EDIT: I just tried again with "cheap PS3" and it did show up in live.com search results, but again the banner disappeared when it linked to ebay. HOWEVER, if you go to My ebay, the banner shows up again! So it seems that there is some sort of glitch in their system.

Same thing happened to me when I was checking on the deal (though I'm not really even shopping for anything else for a while). I feel like maybe clearing your browser's cookies and cache would help it show up again.

I don't see ExcaliberPC selling any on eBay :(

As a matter of fact, what is their seller ID? I can't find it.

Edit - I got it: EXPCeStore.

They aren't selling any N80s though!

Ebay is just the marketplace, in this case, with the same reseller shipping and handling service as if you bought it direct from Excaliber/Gentech/Etc.

Also, for the record, the ebay cashback is now up to 30% (still $200 cap though)

Man, this was an absolute deal. I had the eBay coupon so I was able to stack it for $300 off on the N80Vn-GP011C. I'm glad I found this since the coupon expires at 11:59 PM tonight. I was going to wait a while to pick up one of these laptops, but you can't wait on a deal like this.
