    everrrybody!

is it just me or is the promo link dead?

    http://nbwarranty.asus.com/rebate/

i was able to access it yesterday and the day before but didn't complete the online reg yet because i thought i'd do it at work today and spare myself a trip to the post office by just dropping off the mail-in portion of it in the company mailroom.

i have a printed copy of the blank submission form at home but I don't see how that's going to do me any good if i can't submit it

thanks in advance for the reply's guys! i hope you can tell i'm pretty anxious about this... even though technically i still have another week or w/e to complete this step...

    thanks!

It says you have to send it in and have it postmarked 30 days after purchasing it.

And its over - but if he's already bought it before July 31th, quit procrastinating and get your $200 back :D

Yes..... you have 30 days from the date on your invoice to have it postmarked.... which means right now.... if you could get it out today, you would have had to purchase the no earlier than July 19th.....

I know we've already been called by a few people this week who bought the W3 during the first part of that promo (July 1st - 15th) and they still didn't send it it..... It's not our promotion, so it's not like we could do anything, but it's clearly stated on their site. If you are having problems with it and you are still within that 30 days, then you could give Asus a call.

Rebates checks take a good 6 weeks and I believe that's 6 weeks after the program is over. I wouldn't expect it before the middle of September.

Yeah, rebates suck. Sometimes they don't even come. Dell even tries to swindle you out of your rebate. They sent me a email saying that if I dont reply by clicking on the link, I'd forfeit my rebate. So lame, if I didnt want it, I wouldn't have sent it in. My Netgear rebates and Airlink rebates vanished- or never happened. My HP one's came in about a half year later. And my eMachine rebates came in pretty fast.

yeah, rebates really don't mean a whole lot and are in actual fact, false advertisement. I've seen places like futureshop sell a $50 item for $150 with a $110 rebate and advertise it as $40. So you think you're getting a great deal, but then consider this... at least in BC, we have 14% sales tax. So you pay 150*1.14=$171. Then 2 or 3 months later (and what is the interest, hassle, and chance of losing the rebate worth?) you get a $110 cheque. So the item costs you $61 (after a few months). When you could have bought the item for $40*1.14 = $57 and no hassle or rebate! Rebates are just feeding the government more taxes and in reality aren't as good a deal as you think. Just consider that when you get a rebate.

i bought it on july 31st so i'm still w/in the timeframe for submission

yepp i can get to that link too... that's not the problem... but when you try and click on the "rebate form" link within that page... THAT's the problem... and the link that i put in the first post is the one to the actual "rebate form" and not the front desk (for lack of a better term) for the whole promo!

    any other suggestions?

dang.. I just went to fill out that form as well and noticed the link is dead too. Hopefully it will be back up in the next couple of days. A week ago they had taken the whole page down. After some complaints in the asus forum they put it back up.

The amount of people sending in rebates to Asus is peanuts compared to some of those best rebates you'll find at Best Buy...... and Asus' rebates are usually submitted through their site so they go right to a designated person there. They are close enough with their dealers that if there was an issue, they could verify things with them and take care of your rebate's and so forth.
