I was at school today working on my laptop with battery power then BOOM. The laptop just shutted down. When I came back home and tryied turning on my a8jm with ac adapter, it worked hopefully so the problem was with the battery of course.

The power meter showed the battery charging at 89%. However, when I unpluged the ac adapter, the laptop instantly shutted down again. So I tried the battery calibration and it didnt work obviously because the batery wasnt charging!! Indeed, it is still stuck at 89% with the "charging" status but I guess nothing is charging at all...

Battery dead  Time to gamble a new battery on ebay? :( Way to go to loose another $100-200

    HELP!!!

edit: well actually ill be loosing $68 (cause i live in canada) http://cgi.ebay.ca/Laptop-Battery-f...ryZ11169QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
But thats still too much

Well, it does seem that the Battery is fried but it might not be the battery but some internal circuits on the mobo that deal with the battery... So maybe visiting ASUS support is a better idea ?
