After looking for a new laptop with a bluray player I finally decided to get the R480 from BestBuy because it went on sale for $50 less for $630. I stayed away from HP even with the new metallic bodies because once it's dinged it'll stay that way.. like your car with a ding. I've had HP laptops with various problems especially the wireless and gpu (tx1000z & dv2000z) I actually replaced the motherboards on both of these machines because HP denied of ever having problems with them and would've cost me an arm and a legs to repair them. I have a Dell XPS 1530 and it's still running well after a year and a half. The laptops of Dell and HP with bluray are too expensive for me so I decided for the Samsung R480. The R480 is very light, the screen is gorgeous, and the fit and finish is great. The battery charges fast. The downsides are just a couple... volume is low and the battery only lasts a couple of hours on balance mode, wireless off and 50% brightness watching a movie. The red color is great too!
