Rumored G70's brother, G71V, has been spotted in Computex Taipei 2008. Essentially the specification, as well as the exterior is very similar to G70, but with a single 9700GT instead of two 8700GT.

G50 has also been launched, which is a 15.4" form factor of G71V. The exterior is slightly different, with a very stylish racing orange on the side panel.

More pictures will come soon. My camera ran out of battery before I had the chance to take good pictures of them.

OMG yay im excited. im gonna buy the G50 definitely. Been waiting for a high end 9 series card in an asus laptop 15.4 inch. this is perfect. Especially with Sager's announcement that the 9800m gtx in a 15.4 inch is thermally unstable.

Edit: only way I won't get this laptop is if ASUS or another company puts a 9800m GT or a 9800m GTS in a 15.4 inch laptop

pretty sure sager announced the 9800m gtx wont fit in a 15.4 inch chassis. The 9800m GT and 9800m GTS presumably will, however.

No, Clevo was showcasing a 15.4" with the 9800M in it, which makes it a pretty sure bet that Sager will get a branded version of it shortly after its released.

And the G50 is actually really nice looking - slaughters the G1 in terms of form factor, though I still think the G70 is sinfully ugly.

The 9800M GT/S are gonna be G94b so 55nm desktop 9600GT from what we know. The 9800M GTX is the G92 chip. A 55nm G94 shouldn't be any problem problem for a 15.4''

Are you saying that you saw a lappy with a 9800GTX in it? If so can i see your source? Also, is the 9800GT better than the 8800GTX?

Well, the 9600GT is a pretty strong card (better than the 8800M GTX) so I think the 8800M GTX's equivalent is gonna be either the 9700M GTS or the 9800M GT. The 9800M GTS & GTX should be better

Oh, it might be that. I just remember 9800M, don't recall which suffix it had. I wasn't reading that closely, since I'm not really a gaming notebook person. It was an article on the NBR front page about Sager's upcoming lineup though.

EDIT: And I'm a dumbass. Its the 8800M GTX, not a 9800M at all, though I think its a safe assumption to say that they will get a 9800M GT/S in there eventually.

The 9600GT GDDR2 scores 4006 in 3Dmark06. The 8800M GTX comes to the 9500+ score.

    Check before posting.

Would the 9700m in the g50 be able to run many 3d animation programs such as maya? Im stricken between wanted to be able to game, needing to be able to animate also... If i go with the quadro fx 1600, ill spend about $250 bucks more than say, a 8800 gts, but ill be able to use ANY animation program perfectly, but my gaming power would only be equivilant to about a 8700m gt.

    Argh...
