Hi,
I recently updated my M6R to the 0207 BIOS listed on Asus' support page, I even backed up my old BIOS (I think it was 0203/0204) just in case... but once the upgrade was complete and the laptop booted I figured everything went well and deleted the backup... >.<
Does anybody have a laptop with an older BIOS still on it? My problem is no matter what OS I try to install there are random errors thrown, like when installing Windows 7 I randomly get BSODs either while or after installing, with no consistency at all to the errors it shows... Ubuntu also throws kernel errors at random, and none of this happened before upgrading the BIOS. I am looking for somebody to back theirs up so I can downgrade.
Please help!

You should be able to find the older BIOS version available for download so that you can revert. Make sure you test your RAM as well just to ensure it's not coincidental; intermittent errors are often caused by faulty memory/memory slots.

Unfortunately that is the only version there. I'll run memtest86+ overnight but I expect it to pass, as I tested it before.

For anybody looking to downgrade the BIOS on their M6R, here is a link to the 0204 version that was found on some random chinese site. Rehosted to ensure accessibility.

This didn't solve my issue persay, but I've found the 0204 version to have better USB transfer speeds, so I'll keep it like that. The issue was in fact bad RAM, even though I ran memtest86 for over 9 hours with no errors... http://i.imgur.com/6zfVo.jpg
Running only one stick at a time solved the random crashes, and I've ordered a new 2 gig kit that works great.
Thanks,
