Is there a way I can actually change my hotmail account so it says @live.com instead of @hotmail.com? I like the sound of @live.com better, seems a bit more professional than hotmail.

Thanks for letting us know about this by the way, I sure wouldn't mind the Lamborghini :)

I also already have Windows Live Mail, but it worked for me :)

and yeah, chances are very slim that I'll actually win a VX2, but it didn't cost me anything and all I had to do was "upgrade" to something I already had, lol

It is the Santa Rosa version- check the details. It's got a 2.2 Ghz CPU w/800 Mhz FSB, an 8600M GT vid card, and Intel Turbo Memory, which all add up to Santa Rosa :)

Thanks for the link. I wonder how many people are going to set up fake accounts to try and improve their odds. Things like that are hard to track and Microsoft may not even try. They have to somehow validate you if you win though...

And yea a non "S" model. I will take it anyday.

I was thinking the same thing bona fide....I would still keep the v2s I think...the lamborghini is more expensive which means you can sell it for more...and its a little too flashy/cheesy for me. Maybe if I actually owned a lamborghini I would get one, but probably not even then...and the funny thing is I love cars a lot more than computers, and I still have no desire to have lamborghini badge on there.

Also I sort of want the 8600gs instead the 8600gt....yes that is extremely stupid...but I don't want to have a good gaming computer. Im addicted to computer games and im trying to kick the habit :p .

Yeah the VX2S is arguably the pinnacle of Asus laptops, but it's not a smart idea for college. It's expensive, overly flashy, and heavy. Plus, I could sell it for $2500 and pay half my semester's tuition. :p

heavy? I'll agree that it's definitely expensive. I don't think it's flashy, especially in comparison with something like the G1S, but that's a matter of opinion. But according to the specs they had on the site, it's something like 5.6 pounds, which is a full pound lighter than my Z71v or the aforementioned G1S, for example. For a 15.4" notebook with those specs, I think it's fairly light. It's only 2/10ths of a pound heavier than a 15" MacBook Pro.

I believe it's 5.9lbs, which, though it may be light for 15" notebooks, is too heavy for me to have to carry around everywhere. In fact, the V2S I'm looking at is about 5.2lbs and that's pushing it.

The flashiness is more about the Lamborghini logos and leather than actual bling or lights. In a college environment, it's just asking to be stolen.

sorry, little off topic, but wuzer, which model t61p did you get? 15" or 14". I was looking into the 14" but it doesn't look to be widescreen which sort of drew me away from it.

Also I was just looking on the site and they took the 15" t61p down....wierd

Guess im still waiting on eddie for the v2s, or maybe I could win this vx2s :)

i got the 14" one because there was supposedly no time delay with that one. that and i can deal with the 128mb GFX card since i'm not going to be gaming much on that laptop...just sc2 for on the go entertainment. i have a desktop at home to game with =]
They took the 15.4" t61p widescreen model down because too much demand and they simply can't produce that many.

a lot, but you're forgetting that the contest is limited to the US and there isn't a ton of advertisement about it. I did some calculating from numbers I got on site traffic and my own estimations, and I think the odds are probably somewhere around 1 in 8000, which of course aren't good, but they're better than your chances of winning the lottery or being struck by lighning... ;)

HA! Just entered, this could help me pay for college... Rather keep my G1S and sell the VX2S lol Oh, and even though my G1S is flashy, it's not gonna get stolen, cause I find people that screw with me muhahahaha :D Jk. But yeah, I'm never letting that thing out of my sight (I'm using it's backpack as my only one...) and I'm taking out a $2500 insurance policy through the school for anything that gets stolen on campus, which includes my computer just in case. It's only $50, so what the heck? I thought that was a good deal for some peace of mind.

I'm not sure whether I like the VX2 or the U3S better....The U3 is definitely the better notebook for me, but the VX2 is a *Lamborghini*, I mean who doesn't want a Lamborghini laptop?

Needless to say, I entered for both (with two different hotmail accounts - mine and my dads ;))

I personally think they're ugly and kind of gimmicky. Hardware specs aren't that hot either. But i wouldn't turn one down, you know.
