This is my first post on this forum but i was referred here from the Asus forums because their notebook section is nonexistent.

Heres the story, i first bought the laptop a couple of months ago. It originally worked excellent and had no problems at all. However, after a little while, the laptop would shut down after a couple of hours of use. I only notice it happening when i am doing something demanding such as a graphics intensive game or something of the sort.

This would lead me to think that it is an overheating issue but i find that hard to believe because i took the extra step to buy a thermaltake massive 23cs notebook cooler to try and prevent any overheating issues, but the problem persists.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. I REALLY want to avoid sending it in as I am using it as a desktop so its my only computer.

    Thanks!

Seems like the Thermal paste for your Graphics AND/OR CPU is fried... Might be best to contact the seller you bought it from to RMA it to do a fresh paste on it as the ASUS paste used does seem to under preform greatly and usually does cause overheating issues 3-6 months after purchase. If you bought it from an online retailer such as Newegg or Tigerdirect, try doing a RMA with ASUS to send it to a factory outlet nearby to your home to get the re-paste. If not, then RMA it to the seller and they should repaste it or send it to ASUS to have it completed.

Thank you for the quick reply!

My problem started only about 5 weeks after i received the laptop. Do you think that is still enough time for the paste to be fried?

I will try what you said about sending it in though and hopefully it will be a quick fix :) thanks again!
