My audio used to work fine, until yesterday. Now i found out that the songs/movies/clips coming out of my laptop is suppressed, more like 'hollow' soft sound. (The sound is similar to a bad quality mp3 you d/l from the net)

I have a g2s notebook. The problem is not with the internal speakers, since my external speakers also have the same low-quality sound.

Anyone know any settings/recommendations i can make to change this?

Firstly, do you have a little sound icon in your taskbar? not the system sound one, but one that's related to your sound. if you do, then just exit it and see if that helps, alot of sound utilities for your onboard sound card have equalizers on them that over ride your PC sound and can do that.
