    (Bestbuy) G50VT-X1 vs G50VT-X5

    These are both at bestbuy. DO NOT confuse the G50VT-X5 as the G50V-X5 on newegg!!! Newegg's is different, hence there is no 'T' in the model name. Read the overview tab, the specs tab doesn't seem to have everything correctly labeled.

    Seems the X1 runs slower ram.

    X1 also is running a 5400rpm hard drive compared to the 7200rpm of the x5.

    Considering the same price, it seems the X5 has a bigger cpu cache, and it runs a faster hard drive and faster ram. Looks to me the X5 is a lot better. Wish it didn't have the lame lightning on it though!

    Good machines, X5 for me...as for the lightning on the back...just get a skin on skinit and that should solve the problem.

    false info.
    the are the same except the lid and 6cell vs 9cell battery
    oh and the x1's processor is fast by .1mhz same cache. and it has a 7200rpm drive

    There are no noticeable performance differences between the 2 versions. Go with the X5 if you prefer more battery life and don't mind the extra weight.

    According to X1 owners, it has a 7200rpm HDD as well. Only difference should be looks, CPU, and battery.

    As said 100 unoticable megahertz. Its looks versus battery life. The X5 has the 9 cell the X1 has the 6 cell.

    Best Buy has almost NO X1's left. Its on sale because their trying to get rid of the last of them. I can't get it locally anywhere near where I am and i dunno what it means when it says no shipping and says outlet item at the same time. I guess you can get it online but im not 100%.

    In my area the X-1 is a outlet item and no local BB have them anymore not sure if they discontinued it or the X-5 is simply replacing it so for me it would have to be the X-5 even if the lightning bolts on the lid are extremely stupid looking the X-1 is much better looking in my eyes.
    Everything else is the same except for different CPU's and 6 cell vs 9 cell batteries.

    If you want coupons go grocery shopping.

    Best Buy has sales on 1 to 5 laptop models that start every sunday and are usually gone in 2 days if its a high volume store and a good deal.

    The best way to purchase something from Best Buy is to buy a gift card from ebay. They are often sold for less than face value and with live.com's cashback, you might be able to get a nice discount.

    Really the only noticable difference is the 6 cell vs 9 cell battery, and it is a quite a difference at that.

    I went and looked at the X5 in store, its in a bright light environment which automatically washes the screen out a little. Side to side i saw absolutely no viewing angle problems and nothing bad up and down wither. However in a darker room there may be more noticeable transition.

    I saw an early G50 review that showed some bad pics of a screen with the same rs wether or not they changed panels i do not know.
