Hi all,
I took apart my laptop and reassembled. Mouse pad stopped working. Upon inspection, the cable that connects the touchpad to the motherboard looked a bit broken (the small metal bits were coming off). So I trimmed it with scissors and put it back in, still didn't work. I then made things worse and broke the little plastic clip that holds it in place.
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement cable and clip or what they are called? Also is it possible I might have short-circuited something with my bare hands? Hoping that's not the case, otherwise I'm going to have to carry a USB mouse everywhere I go. Laptop is an Asus NS55SL
Very gutted about this. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Sorry for bumping, but hoping I can find a solution. Thanks.

Or just ask them if you can send the whole computer in for warranty/non-warranty repair. -

It would likely be non warranty unless accidental damage coverage is still in place. I don't think you will be able to order a cable and retainer clip from them, and I really doubt such specific parts will be easy to find (if at all) anywhere to be honest.

Yup, it is better to contact ASUS and have them do the repair for you if it's still under warranty (warranty starts on the date purchase).
