Yes the 1002ha is definitely the one of the most striking netbooks looks wise.

You have to admit Asus listened, they fixed the major complaint about the 1000H.

Some said it was too bulky and not looking that good and then out came the 1002HA.

Some said they want real all day computing and the keyboard fixed and there comes the 1000HE

Asus is leading the way with there netbooks, this is a good market for them.

Lets see if they do a merge of the 1002HA and 1000HE to extend the battery life a bit more and give it the new keyboard. Then I may have to change over :p

For now though I plan to wait until I have a major upgrade on a netbook.

Mostly I think a higher res screen would be most important, secondary a faster cpu or better IGP would be good.

All of them take away from battery life though and I do not think some people realize that, so its a very careful game of balancing all traits of the netbook for the best overall product.

Still with battery life over 7 hours, if they could bump up the cpu and give me a higher res screen and keep it above 5 hours I think I would take that compromise with no complaints.

Screen - To view more things, esp some programs with fixed window sizes. Would make many things easier to do.
Better CPU - Some things like 720P content are borderline running on XP and dont quite play on Vista, a small upgrade should have it in the clear. Also the current CPU is not strong enough for many flash objects. For me personally a cpu upgrade also means maybe more emulators I can play :p

That would the ideal scenario - 1002HA looks + 1000HE battery life :) Add an additional backlit keyboard and I'd be jumping with glee and be the first in line to purchase.

i noticed though it has that widescreen look like the Vaio Z/Vaio TT whereas the S101 had the typical square display.

Looking to buy one of these but i live in Australia and they are really expensive here so I was going to import one from the US but I have a few question about the power supply.

Is the included power supply similar to this http://estore.asus.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=4446&catid=624

where you can detach the figure 8 cable and put in one with a different connection.

Also can someone confirm the power supply will take 240V and 50Hz.

Hi and welcome to the forums, Tommy :)

Yes, that's the exact same power supply unit as the one that came with my 1000HE. It will also take 240V and 50Hz

The below image shows where the figure 8 cable is detached

Anyone else notice the shiny plastic around the screen gets scuffed and looks a bit scratched up?

Are you referring to the screen bezel? If so, mine is scratch-free (but full of fingerprints)

I find that once you get enough finger prints on this thing, it looks like a nice little design. :p

I don't have scratches. Care to post a pic? This might be a good reason to consider getting a snug case or skin...

    That's funny.

So do all netbooks get finger prints? Why come they dont just make them like my Dell D600? :)

Not really though a huge percent are prone to fingerprints :D The Lenovo S10 has a non glossy finish and is still a good little notebook.

I remember the first EeePCs were made with a matte finish, so fingerprints aren't really an issue. But the glossy piano-finish does seem to take on a whole new trend in the last couple years. It does help prevent scratches, and i think most people would rather see a smudge than a permanent scratch on their netbooks/notebooks.

    My dream EEEPc would be a 1008HA's looks + 1000HE's Battery Life + N10's GPU + T101's screen :)

That makes sense considering my Dell D600 looks like it's been to Iraq and back. :)
