had it on for 3 hours since a full charge and it still says 100%, anyone else have this issue? and the mWh rating is crazy...

Hi linsook, try and calibrate your battery and if that does not work, ask Asus for a battery replacement (you'll need to send your netbook in, since the battery is non-user replaceable)

To calibrate your battery, drain your battery by running your netbook on battery power only until it shuts off. Charge your battery overnight or ~12 hours.

no calibration option in bios setup. but seems like everything is ok now.

after the notebook died on its own, i plugged it back in to charge however it didn't charge for at least 20 minutes. then suddenly the orange charge light just suddenly came on and it started to charge and now everything seems okay. it is reporting the correct info.

i am not the only one with this issue, there seems to be a second person with similar issues to me over at the asus support forums however in his case, it just wont charge. i hope its not a sign for early battery wear or complications.

Yeah, there isn't a battery calibration option in the BIOS, but you can do it manually just like what you've done (drain battery, and recharge)

Sorry this is a little off topic but how is your 1008ha running with windows7? I am hesitant to purchase the 1008ha because I can not upgrade the harddrive and ram so I assumed it would perform sluggishly with windows 7.

I have been waiting to hear when the 1005 will be released because it seems to have the nice style of the 1008 but with a replaceable battery and components.

    Thanks.

runs windows 7 fine on stock ram and hd. windows 7 is a delight to use even on these underpowered netbooks.
it is possible to upgrade the 1008ha's parts but opening it up maybe require some extra work. guides are online.

    win7 official minimum requirements
you can already google some pictures of the 1005ha
