    Hello everyone,

I have the above mentioned piece of **** and am trying to activate Optimus on it. I have windows 7 ultimate x86 and have reinstalled it around 4 times during the last 4 hours for the following reasons:

    1. [ If I install Nvidia driver then switch to optimus using ASUS switch, I get BSOD on next startup (I'm guessing because the intel driver is not installed). However when attempting to get into safe mode to correct the problem, I either get BSOD or the netbook turns off by itself! An OS reinstall is the only way to get to windows.]

    • [Installing Intel driver before Nvidia is not possible, the system returns 'unable to find compatible device' ]

    • [first turn on optimus, so Intel VGA is enabled then installing the driver for Intel. After restart BSOD! Again Safe-mode leads to either BSOD or system sudden shut down. A reinstall is needed.]

    • [tried the above again. After reboot I can only hear sound and the display is blank. ALT+F4 then enter to shut down (or restart) leads to system sudden shut down]

Has anyone managed to get Optimus working on this model? It was working a long time before, then I decided to reinstall win7. I don't remember the process being so ridiculously complicated.
It works perfectly with only NVIDIA ION enabled, but that drains too much power so I need Optimus.
Any Ideas? I'm suspecting the Intel VGA is not functioning right and the system is shutting down to protect itself...

I got it to work now. Miraculously, I turned on my netbook and this time it booted without BSOD. So I installed the previous version of the Intel driver and it finally worked.
