ASUS doesn't make any regular notebooks that small, only netbooks at 11.6". The smallest they make now is the 12.1" UL20FT.

The mainstream SNB parts aren't really out yet either. With the recall delay I'd expect them to show up in the next month or so, but again, don't expect anything smaller than 12" from ASUS unless you are talking about an Eee.

ok thank you. 12" is ok too. but I'd prefer not to go higher than that, and I'm not looking to get an eee. is the UL20 the only option as far as ultra portable notebook?

Yeah, from what I've heard Asus doesn't sell many 12" units, I have a U20A and I'm pretty sad that they just killed off the model with no refresh. The UL20FT is the only thing they make that small now, but I've heard nothing about a sandy bridge refresh of it. Again, this is probably because the low voltage intel parts aren't out yet.

See this post about the new 13" sandy bridge models: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/555863-u36-wait-sandy-bridge-2.html#post7188370

Yeah, last I checked a non-netbook 11" system was the U1 series. Asus has no plans to revive it and will probably make all future 11" systems as netbooks, so Sandy Bridge on a 11" chassis is very unlikely. And as Groceries pointed out, I too, have not heard anything on a UL20 refresh.

Has there been an update to this? What are the options now that Sandy Bridge is out? 12" is also fine.

ASUS has announced the MBA competitor, UX21.

Currently the speculation is that the notebook will launch some time in September. Personally I think it looks pretty damn good, and it really shows how good ASUS's engineers and designers are.

Thanks. I've read about the UX21, but was looking for something that's out now. Is the 1215 getting SB?

Unfortunately, the EEEs will stay with Atoms for now.
