Does anybody know of any upgrade paths for the m5/z33 systems? I'd like to move to a 1400x1050, like the toshiba m200, but are the screens compatible? The m200 has a touch panel, but I don't know if the display is separate. And is the screen on the m5n replaceable easily? Thanks.

Sorry you are wasting your time on this. Even if you found a panel and managed to dismantle the frame without damaging it (highly unlikely you will do this without a very knowledgeble dealers aid) you will most likely find the lcd cable is wrong and you will need a new one.

.... well said Eddie... I've made swaps like this, but to hook up a touch screen involved knowing the pinouts for at least usb and then soldering them inside the system....... great thought, but if you're looking for "easy", this isn't the best direction to go.

Yep, also I doubt asus will release a 12" with that resoultion, as for most users its too high on such a small system, thus most wouldnt buy it.

I just meant that I wanted the display, and not the touch screen. Man, 1400x1050 would be so nice though... photoshop would be a breeze and I can keep my billion windows open all the time, and see what's going on in all of them. Plus you get to brag. So no go, huh? Too bad.

1400x1050 on a 12" screen? That would be ridiculous... seriously. Sure you'd be able to see a lot... but reading it would be another thing!

The text would be small, but toshiba did it with the M200. So if a gigantor corporation like toshiba can market a 1400x1050 12.1" why can't a little guy like me stick one in? It'd be almost continuous... Besides, I have perfect vision (for now).

'cause I'm broke. Also, my m5 suits me just fine right now. Hopefully I won't start looking for a new computer for a few more years. Yeah, I'll be a technological dinosaur. My last computer was a PII, 350mhz. Skipped a few processor generations in there...

...At this point in the current P "M" platform's life cycle, I'm looking to purchase one of these for a 6 month EOL for me...just to get me through to a Merom platform...

    Notice any? I have not.
