    Hello forum.

Well, I bought a 1201PN in late November in the states and brought it back with me to Costa Rica. About a month after purchasing something happened to the OS and what I ended up having to do since there is no authorized service center here in Costa Rica is downloand Windows 7 Home Premium from the web and installing that. That went off without a hitch except for a couple issues I have.

Now some of you will probabl think that I am crazy, but I would like to reinstall all the bloatware back to the system and make a recovery disk as close to what the laptop was when I bought it.

I went to the ASUS site and downloaded everything there listed for my computer, but there are several things that aren't there such as the Dr. EEE and also the EEE Docking Utility that was on the desktop originally.

And lastly, the card reader isn't reading right. I don't remember what it said in the device manager before, but now it says under disk drives "Multiple Card Reader USB Device" but under My Computer the SD card doesn't appear. And not sure if this is related, but when I connect something USB to the laptop and want to disconnect, the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon is unresponsive.

    Thanks for any input guys

So you killed off the hidden partition and couldn't reinstall from there using the BIOS menu? That would restore the system to factory default original.

    Thanks for responding ClearSkies...

I guess I should've mentioned that I was unable to access the recovery partition using F9 or any other means. That's why I downloaded W7HP off the net and then activated it with the serial number on the under side of the case.
