Anyone else been getting driver failures using any of the 17x.xx drivers? I get great performance from 174.74, but its just not worth it if every few hours of gaming I need to reboot my notebook because I get a driver failure and I get reduced to 1-2 fps. I use a C90S, anyone have any stable 17x.xx drivers that give actual performance boost without this annoying error?

I didn't last even that long with 174.74. Mine drops out after about 30seconds. I'm quite happy running 174.16 on my laptop, no drops in fps or stuttering or driver crashes, whereas I do get these problems with any of the other 174 series drivers I have tried.

I'm downloading the new Clevo ones right now (174.33) gonna try them out and if I have problems I'll try your suggestion, 174.16. I haven't gone through this many drivers in such a short amount of time since Vista first came out and the Toshiba P105 had a horrible stutter problem.

I keep trying new ones every time they get uploaded. Just on the off chance that they will herald an end to poor performance and stuttering.

174.74 and a couple of others in the 17x.xx line did a pretty good job for me, just the driver failure kills all the benefits.

The only stable driver for me is 167.62. I use folding@home to force usage on the CPU so my 8600M gets cooled while gaming. It stays at 96 (112 without F@H btw) with 167.62 and 102 with 174.xx

174.31 is the latest driver that works for me. Then again I have the ddr3 version so I guess I can't expect to have access to the latest drivers like everyone else.

174.33 are working a little buggy, great gaming performance, but horrible Aero. I'm going to enter the Subsys ID from my graphics card into the driver and reload them and see how that works out, didn't have time to do that today.

I am not even able to use 174.74 on G1Sn, the driver seem to be installed but it only showing "Standard VGA" under device manager, but the wired thing is it worked and performance seems to be the way it suppose to be even it's showing Standard VGA:
