Hi all I've one of the small Asus M5n series laptops. 1.7 Centrino. - I've started to see 1gig chips on the market that look like they may work with my laptop.

Has anyone else taken there ram past 768?

    Thanks in advance.

I have an S5n and I'm waiting for the 1gig microdimms to come down in price and then I will probably buy one. They are still a bit too pricey and I'm fine with 768 for now. I'd be curious to hear if anyone else has done this yet though.

That's interesting Justin. I didn't know that. Actually, now that I think about it, there's really no reason to have that much memory in a computer this size. It would actually be a waste of money even if such a thing ever existed.

Well since the microdimms are now focused on DDR2 400 -- like that in the new M5a (z33a) and S5a..... I don't know if you'll see it. The problem is the 512mb microdimms are already loaded up with memory on both sides of the stick........ a microdimm is just about 1/2 the size of a regular notebook so-dimm........ do I don't know if they will be able to make one in the near future.

    Thanks,
    Justin
