Hey yall I just recently got a k53sv with 6gb of ram. cpu z tells me there is a 4gb stick from elpida, and a 2gb stick from hyundai, each running at different speeds. anyone have anything similar?

im guessing asus made them all 4 gb, and then added the extra 2gb after the fact, maybe they ran out of something.
    thanks for any insight.

clarification: i did NOT add any ram in on my own yet, this is what came with my laopt.

also, anyone get the new intel 6 chipset drivers and notice a difference from there old ones?

having 2 different brands doesn't matter. The main thing with ram is that the timing/frequency/cas is the same especially when running proper dual channel. When you have a config with something like 3gb or 6gb it runs in asymmetrical dual channel. I would just say leave it as long as you don't go anywhere near the limit of your ram, and you don't see any slow downs when running multiple apps, and/or general pc responsiveness.
