Hey guys, new UL80VT owner here. Got to say i love this thing.

I have already applied double sided tape to fixed the rattle in the KB, worked like a charm...thanks to whoever originally suggested this idea

I have a couple questions. I know the first question has been answered throughout the forums, and i've browsed a bit but seen several different responses, and just want to make sure i have this correct.

    1) I want to mod my ul80 with the backlit keyboard. From what I understand, this can be done on the ul80 as well correct? I know it can be done on the ul30, and from what ive seen, beings the 80 is nearly identical, it can be done on this. Do i follow the same instructions as this? And do i purchase the same keyboard that is listed in the first post of that thread? Or is there a different one required for the ul80vt?

    2) Has anyone experienced this?: I autohide my taskbar because I use rocketdock. Whenever I restart my computer, or 9 times out of 10, when I switch GPUs, the taskbar is no longer on autohide. In fact, the "auto hide taskbar" checkbox unchecks itself. I have to right click and check the auto hide taskbar box every time. Is there any fix to this? I noticed that with factory settings (when i used the laptop for the first time before changing any settings, including not hiding the taskbar yet), that each power setting via power4gear had a different appearance. The taskbar was actually set to autohide on one of the power4gear settings, but not the others. So i'm thinking somewhere there is a setting for this? I couldnt find a setting anywhere in the power4gear or power settings utilities. Maybe there's a setting in the registry? Or just something simple that i am missing altogether?

Thanks in advance everyone! I am definitely loving this thing so far!! Sleek as a macbook, powerful for a small notebook, switchable gpus, chicklet keys, awesome battery life, etc etc...the list goes on!

Autohide not working is an issue with Power4Gear. You can try downloading newer versions to see if Asus fixed it.
