I know this question has been asked numerous times, yet i am still confused. So if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it:

Would the notebooks released first half of this year like w2j, lambo etc... run vista when it comes out?

Yes... in fact, notebooks released last year (and probably even the year before that) can run Vista.
Whether they will come SHIPPED with Vista when it comes out...is doubtful, but you never know.

Well, they can't ship with Vista because it won't be released probably sometime in Q4 at best.

.... the only thing that is supposed to be a killer for Vista is a larger requirement of RAM. XP Pro requires 256mb just for the OS.. I think Vista was going to require 512mb....... not a big deal for most anyone, but it is something to consider when considering say one stick of 1gb vs 2 x 512mb....... you'll probably want the ability to upgrade more down the road.

The only other thing is that there will be increased demand on the gpu, thus a dedicated card will perform much better with all the vista candy turned on then say an integrated intel gma900. That said, one can easily turn off a few effects and still have vista running no problems....just like u can with XP. But pro is right, the main concern I would have is memory, 1Gb will be the mininum for decent performance.

If you want to run it with all the trimmings, a dedicated card with DirectX 9 support is a good idea.
